The $1.15 is the cost to "Feeding America" to provide 8 meals, likely considering their other subsidizations, etc. Most organizations like that have endowments that subsidize most of what they do, and the additional costs they ask to be covered just allow them not to take from the capital. Otherwise, IE8 is finally almost entirely compatible! I still use FF for the real world, but I gotta check compatibility sometimes (thank you for libraries like JQuery that hide the real world from me). I'd use Chrome because it's faster, but it still seems to have some weirdness. I'm patient. I can look again in a year. Great comic! (At least the betas, I never got around to installing the final version.) TBH I like the IE default settings more than Firefox. Firefox wins because the number of addons rule!
